Centropolis is the core space of the city center reinterpreted with a modern viewpoint while inheriting the spatiality of Jongno, the center of Seoul. Centropolis was completed as a place that closely connects people and space, inside and outside in Jongno, the central city of Seoul. Centropolis, which houses the Gongpyeong Historic Sites Museum on the first basement floor, serves as the center for the circulation and historic preservation of the city. The architectural design that bases itself on the symbolism of tradition and culture serves as a bridge between the past and present and adds the meaning of the 'way to the future.' While its appearance might seem conservative, it offers a unique urban pattern to become a meeting place for people at night, like an Urban Lantern. The façade design reinterpreted traditional patterns into patterns that embrace functions with delicate and elegant modern sensibilities. The so-called Gongpyeong-dong Rule, established together by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, project operator, architects, and the Seoul Museum of History, set up a new milestone in designing the excavation and preservation of cultural heritage. It is significant that the Gongpyeong Historic Sites Museum is nestled in the midmost of Jongno.
