Myeongdong Cathedral has completely transformed through the ‘Myeongdong Cathedral Comprehensive Plan Phase I’ construction. The diocesan curia office where the Seoul National University parish of the Catholic Church conducts its business was newly built, the curved slope that had been covered with a green forest and trees back in 1898 when first built was restored, and benches have been built in each corner of the way up the cathedral to allow anyone to come and rest. The square was made public to the community in various ways, and the cathedral area has been restored to what it had originally looked like, creating a time warp where the past, present and future coexist.
