This is the fifth center that Samsung SDS established in Korea. It is a disaster recovery (DR) center constructed as a software defined data center (SDDC). To ensure safe data backup, which is the primary purpose of the DR center, and the stable operation of the center, a lowenergy high-efficiency modular data center with 1.2 PUE was designed by taking advantage of the location in Chuncheon, where the monthly average temperature is 1.4°C lower than the capital region and no earthquake was observed yet in history. The exterior introduced the rounded Y-shape consecutive sliced mass design to cope with the irregular site to allow natural wind from everywhere to flow naturally, uninterrupted by the building, to help cool the server.
