Cambodia's Largest Shopping Complex
Aeon Mall 3 in Cambodia is located south of Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. It is the largest shopping mall in the country, featuring experiential spaces alongside cultural and financial facilities. Consisting of 260 tenant spaces, the mall was designed to accommodate outdoor activities indoors as much as possible, compensating the limitations imposed by the tropical climate. In addition, the 25m tall sky bridge and a sky slider provide a unique experience that is not easily found in the region. A streamlined interior design covers the entire interior that spans over 500m in length. The sky dome was finished with triangular-patterned curtain walls. The exterior is designed with double-skin perforated metal panels, creating a distinctive appearance during the day and a beautiful nightscape with colorful lighting.
Design-Build Construction
Aeon Mall 3 adopted the 'Design-Build' construction method, where a designer was stationed on site from the beginning to modify the design and carry out construction. This method is not typically practiced in Korea.
Post Tension Method
The structure's strength and durability were enhanced by applying the ‘Post Tension’ method. This technique compresses steel or fiber-reinforced materials into a concrete structure and secures the steel to maintain compression after the structure is completed.
