Jaho Kim, Chairman of Gansam Holding Company , Selected as 2025 Honorary Architect by the Korean Institute of Architects

Jaho Kim, Chairman of Gansam Holdings Company, has been selected as an Honorary Architect of 2025 by the Korean Institute of Architects (KIA). The Honorary Architect title is awarded to senior or leading architects who have made exceptional contributions to the advancement of the architectural field, including achievements in architectural practice, education, technological innovation, or environmental improvement.
The KIA hosted an exhibition featuring the eight newly appointed Honorary Architects of 2025, along with 26 architects who received the honor between 2022 and 2024. Entitled “Drawing the Ideal: The Lives of 34 Architects,” the exhibition was held at Topohaus Gallery 3 in Insa-dong, Seoul, from October 29 to November 3. It showcased not only the architects’ representative works and design processes but also biographical records encompassing their life stories.
Interview videos and oral archives of the selected Honorary Architects will be available on the Honorary Architects Association’s website (www.fkia.or.kr). As a “trajectory of an era,” this archival exhibition is expected to serve as a valuable record that revisits the footsteps of those who have shaped modern Korean architecture and passes on their spirit and legacy to future generations.
