Located in an area concentrated with
various neighborhood facilities and business facilities, a strategic point of
traffic connecting Namsan Mountain and Chungmuro and Myeong-dong and
Dongdaemun, this project was planned as a residence-style accommodation
tailored to 1 or 2-person households within the city center. Neighborhood
facilities close to urban life are placed on the underground and lower floors
so the existing urban order can be maintained even after the development, and
living accommodation for long and short-term residents within the city was
placed on higher floors. Every room includes a balcony to provide a buffer zone,
and a terrace is given through the change of high-level mass to feel a piece of
peace in the middle of the city center. In addition, a resting space, including
a water space, is given to fully utilize the rooftop garden with the view of
Namsan Mountain. To supplement the living accommodation, which lacks room
service and subsidiary facilities compared to tourist accommodation, we created
a separate lounge for guests in collaboration with a living accommodation
operator from the beginning of the design stage. It includes useful service
spaces like reception, fitness, library, meeting room, and laundry room. We
relocated the subway entrance/exit to an open public space within the site to
increase convenience for guests and residents in the neighborhood.
