WONIK HOLDINGS

Wonik Holdings in Jinwi was planned as a practical integrated business site. We combined the buildings, planned as separate masses during the design competition, into a single mass when finding the best possible combination of the two main programs, work, and production. The simplified white mass gives a sense of unity while creating a clear façade matching the image of the company that manufactures high-tech equipment, enhancing recognition and symbolism. Furthermore, we proposed Wonik Street, an integrated master plan connecting the current site to the secondary project site, making it a landmark of the industrial complex. The office building created a rhythmical elevation with various louvers and, at the same time, reduced the quantity of solar radiation. The simplified production building is organically connected with the office building to complete a unified design. We arranged buildings by embracing the difference in land heights and created rational traffic lines so that the place could be expanded vertically and horizontally in the future. We applied stricter firefighting standards than required for the resting spaces across the site, including the rooftop garden and staff lounges, which reveal Wonik's meticulousness in that it considered efficient production spaces as well as employees' need for recharging and resting.
