[Selected] Architectural competition of KB Golden Life Care Gwanggyo Village

"Leading brand of premium nursing facility, KB Golden Life Care Gwanggyo Village"

Gansam was selected as the final architect for the design of KB Golden Life Care Gwanggyo Village. 

Gwanggyo Village, which is the fourth nursing facility co-built with Gansam and KB Golden Life Care, is ‘Home’ for seniors who will be newly established in Suwon city. According to the needs of seniors, its highest priority is to provide pleasant living circumstances as a nursing facility located in the city center with infrastructure and close to family rather than outside of city separated from society. Gansam proposed nature-friendly space by maximizing natural and direct sunlight through the bedroom arrangement with careful surrounding analysis and taking advantage of light ducts. Two units located on each floor are planned to be fully detachable to respond the emergencies like the pandemic, and events were added to the shared living room as a special plan based on the condition of each unit. The comfortable-toned bricks and repeated gable roofs are an architectural language expressing that this is one village for more than 180 seniors. This is to express the identity of KB Golden Life Care that connects villages in different regions while designing with the top priority to provide physical and psychological comfort to residents with a continuous and advanced concept from the first project Wirye Village to the fourth Gwanggyo Village.
